The BLOCKX range of extra-fine oil paints
consists of 105 vibrant shades, all of which offer
exceptional lightfastness (rated 7/8 on the
international BWS scale). BLOCKX extra-fine oils
are, for the most part, made from pure mono-
pigment, without the addition of fillers or
additives. Thanks to a unique traditional
manufacturing method of grinding on
porphyry stone, mixed with traditional binders,
BLOCKX oils with their creamy textures are
highly concentrated in colour.

The Sennelier range of extra-fine colours is
obtained through the rigorous selection of the best
pigments produced by nature or industry.
The colouring material is ground to an extremely fine consistency.
The concentration is maximised in accordance with the nature of the pigments.
Since the quality of the oil plays a major role in the durability of the work, Sennelier
prefers to use safflower oil, an oilseed grown in North America. Safflower oil
yellows less than linseed oil, dries better than poppy seed oil and allows for better
paste consistency. For certain darker tones where yellowing is less of an issue,
Sennelier uses linseed oil.

SENNELIER extra-fine solid oil offers a new approach to oil
painting in terms of both colour and texture. This ‘new material’
broadens the scope for artistic expression in this technique.
SENNELIER extra-fine solid oils are based on:
- pure pigments.
- vegetable oils (siccatives), selected for their low yellowing over
time and used as a grinding medium.
- a mineral wax that gives it its solid consistency.
This wax has undergone extensive testing and meets the
following criteria:
- good preservation over time,
- very good film adhesion on various traditional oil painting
supports. Beautifully uniform finish.
- good bonding between different layers.

Georgian oil paints
are traditionally manufactured
from high-quality pigments, triple-
ground, giving them a creamy
consistency and intense chromatic
richness.
These low-odour oils can be
applied directly from the tube using
a brush or palette knife, or thinned
to create delicate glazes. They
offer reliable and consistent drying
times, drying to the touch in 4 to 5
days depending on the colour.
The range includes 58 colours,
including authentic cobalt and
cadmium shades, all with excellent
3-4 star lightfastness. The colours mix
